So generally speaking I'm against intro/gloss books as they poorly explain the subject matter, which they cover. Though there's that one series that has really amusing pictures (though content wise it's the worst). But general rule of thumb is NEVER read a companion, intro, or gloss book before reading the source material.
...but if you need Kant explained in 60 minutes, listen to the last Absurd Minds album, this is some funny shit.
